Ode To Napoleon – Camerata 2018
23. June – 19:30
The evening’s program connects music across centuries in a reflection on transformation, inner tension, and existential gestures. Chamber works by Bohuslav Martinů and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart showcase various forms of musical drama—from neoclassical energy to the darker expression of classicism. Jan Dušek’s Quintet for Oboe and Strings, titled Appeal, will receive its world premiere; it is a musical expression of helplessness in the face of the state of the world and human behavior. The program concludes with Arnold Schoenberg‘s expressive Ode to Napoleon, a powerful musical statement about power, freedom, and individual responsibility. The evening thus creates an arc between intimate chamber music and an urgent social appeal.
